In his prior position, Dr. Duobinis was Director of Forecasting at the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). He was responsible for the forecasts that were produced by the Economics Department at NAHB. He was involved with research projects that focused on homebuilding and its importance to the national and local economy.

Prior to his position with NAHB, he was Senior Vice President of the Regional Economic Service with the WEFA Group (A company formed in 1987 by the merger of Chase Econometrics and Wharton Econometric Forecasting Associates). His responsibilities there included all of the forecasts produced by The WEFA Group for states, metropolitan areas, and counties. He was also in charge of all consulting projects related to Regional products.
In his previous position as Director of State and Local Government Consulting with Chase Econometrics, he was in charge of model development, scenario analysis, and revenue forecasting for all state and local government contracts.
Dr Duobinis was the Associate Director of the Regional Economic Studies Institute at Towson University, and while at the University of Tennessee, Dr. Duobinis was the Director of the Tennessee Econometric Modeling Project. He was also a full-time member of the Economics department at the University of Tennessee during his tenure there.
Dr. Duobinis' teaching experience includes several years as an Assistant Professor of Economics at Shippensburg University, as well as part time positions at Franklin University and the Ohio State University.
He has been involved in a variety of research projects dealing with various aspects of regional models and forecasting and has presented and published a wide variety of papers on topics, especially regional modeling.
Dr. Duobinis received a B.A. in Economics from the University of Maryland and an M.A. and Ph.D. in Economics from The Ohio State University.
